I had a good job as a senior HR Manager and had influenced and managed significant change in the company over the 7 years I was in situ. However, I was bored and increasingly frustrated at the way the company was operating. I was stuck in a classic career rut and could not see a way out, especially as I was firing blanks with my job applications.
I decided to contact Steve, who I knew had an excellent reputation for his success in helping people move forward with their careers.
Through a personalised career development programme, Steve quickly established my goals, barriers and helped me regain my confidence and self belief.
I was highly defensive about my CV but Steve coached me to understand my true marketability and developed a new CV that really reflected my character traits, key skills and many achievements. Before I knew it the interviews were flooding in, which proved that he was right – I had been greatly underselling myself!
We worked on developing a winning job search strategy and to define my career values and needs, which was most empowering and enlightening. I was starting to see light through the tunnel and being much more focused and targeted with my approach.
My loss of confidence had affected my interview technique and Steve coached and challenged me to hone my interview skills, working hard on my mindset and general interview approach.
Thanks to Steve, I really came good and secured an excellent position as Director of HR in a prestigious organisation, with lots of opportunity to make a difference!
What I have learnt through my career transition, is the benefit of expert professional help. It is hard to see the wood for the trees and getting the right job is not easy and involves an investment in time and money.
I wholeheartedly recommend Steve if you are looking to move your career to the next stage. He is a real professional, always positive, encouraging and a source of inspiration, even when things don’t go to plan, keeping you focused and motivated to achieve your goal.
