I first approached SMP on a personal recommendation from a colleague.
I had suffered a series of knock-backs on job applications, where on paper and in terms of experience I should have had what it took, yet each time, typically in the final round I had been eliminated.
Our first session helpfully set out the ground of my career to date and the appointments that I was seeking, he made me focus on seeing me in those roles and transferring my strengths over entirely. We talked through the presentation of my cv and how best to convey the narrative of my abilities in the context of new applications.
In my latest application, for a highly prestigious educational establishment, Steve showed me (with eye-watering candour) where I had failed to make myself clear or to articulate adequately how my skills and experience were entirely allied to the job description’s key features. He patiently combed through the re-write and thus entirely reinvigorated the whole application.
The result......
