Does it matter where I live?
Not at all, except that we do focus on the UK market. SMP provides a personalised face to face career coaching and development programme for clients who live in London and the ‘Home Counties’. We will visit you at a convenient location e.g. hotel lounge area, quiet pub or coffee shop where we can talk privately in a relaxed environment. We also have access to meeting rooms in Ruislip, Middlesex and Central London. We are highly flexible and will travel to you, if you are happy to pay for our expenses.
However, the majority of our programmes can be run taking full advantage of telephone and email especially more general Career Coaching, CV's and Interview Skills.
Following an initial discussion we can determine the most suitable approach for your needs.

Self employment can be extremely rewarding but is not for everyone. If you are looking for a complete change, a new challenge and really want to be the architecht of your own future, then it could be just the tonic you need!
Portfolio careers are a way of earning income from a range of activities. These can be related or totally unrelated and can be a mix of employed and self employed or all self employed activities. To be a successful portfolio worker, you need to have some very definite values and behavioural traits.

I have heard a lot about Interim Management. Can you explain this?
Interim Management is popular for both employers and people going through career change. Interim work is usually project based and for a period of weeks or months, often to cover for a senior member of staff who has left, maternity cover or to fill a skills gap in the organisation.
Unlike Consultancy, where the remit is usually to review and recommend, Interim work is ‘hands on’ implementation, often in a change environment and with line responsibility. Interims are expected to ‘hit the ground running’ and be specialists in their field.
Interims usually are expected to trade through their own Limited Companies but are sometimes employed on PAYE basis.
Interim Management can be very rewarding and a number of people have made a successful career out of it. However, it is very difficult to break into and there is no guarantee of work, so you need to consider your options very carefully before you devote too much time on this potential aspect of your career.

How much do you charge for your services?
Our range of Career Development Coaching and Workshop prices are featured on the Career Development section of the website. The price list provides full details of prices for individuals. Please call or email us for our range of services and prices for businesses.
Travel time and cost will also be factored into fees, if working with you on a face to face basis.
SMP pride ourselves on offering a highly professional value for money service for individuals and businesses. Coaching and development sessions are up to 1 hour by telephone or usually up to 2 hours if face to face.
A personalised 'Breakthrough Career Development Programme' , of up to 4 sessions, is likely to offer similar value to a one off Management or Executive CV with some larger and more impersonal consultancies!
The most important factor is your individual requirements and due to our flexibility, we will do our utmost to find a solution that meets your needs and budget.

How can I justify the expense?

What methods of payment do you accept?
Payment for our Career Workshops should be made by credit or debit card using Google Checkout.
For 1:1 coaching or any other specific career or personal development services payment can still be made by credit card or debit card. Once we have agreed the price and dates, we will email you a Google Checkout invoice which provides a secure method to input your credit card details.
We can also take payment by electronic bank transfer (BACS) or cash. We will agree the most suitable payment option when you make your enquiry or booking.
Payment for all workshop events must be made in advance and we provide special earlybird booking discounts for Full Day Career Workshops.
